For Family Home Evening
(read about FHE here)
we chose to discuss the commandments &
how Moses came to receive the tablets on the mountain.
We took the boys for a drive through the mountains &
returned home to make our very own mountain out of papermache.
Rod took it a step further & made a volcano.
Tre & Rod formed the volcano....

While Rod & Tre were busy
Britt made his own little volcano from play-doh with a bit of help.

Tre has never been much for getting his hands dirty...
his face says it all.
I love that boy!

The volcano had to dry over night.
So Tuesday after school I put one of
Rod's shirts
on T-man over his school uniform &
gave him a pail of paint & a brush.

<span class=
painting a volcano must be hard work.
My anti-napper fell right asleep...in daddy's shirt & all.

Today when T woke up he checked his creation &
sure enough the paint was dry & the volcano was ready to erupt.
After dinner I rallied the troops around the dinner table & we watched in wonder.

Rod couldn't have planned a better activity for the boys.
Tre's pre-school class is on letter V this week
& he had a story to tell his teacher.
He was so proud that he knew V is for Volcano &
that he & his daddy made one!
