{fan club}

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Our Baby boy has yet to join
the Presley fan club
with his older brothers.

He tries to tap dance on her.
really.
he does try.

I tried the whole incorporate him, give him a task bit
& it just doesnt work for his little self.
He wants his momma
& thats all that matters
& in his eyes Presley is taking what is his.

I have hope though.
Because I have caught him on more then one occasion
staring lovingly
at his baby sister.

Her little personality is just beginning to bloom for us!

{crazy boys}

Thursday, September 23, 2010

The boys are in bed...awake.
I can hear all 3 voices.
Tre is trying to teach Britton how to add numbers.
(Britts not listening from the sound of things.)
Britton is playing superheros with action figures
& giving commands like "you stop that bad guy!"
Maddox is babeling something.
His "words" are muffled by his chooch.
Today the boys were playing while I cleaned up dinner.
I walked into their room to pick out jammies when I found them being down right rediculous! "your a diaper head!" was screamed over & over.
They are NUTS-O!
I am overwhelmed with joy that they have each other!
I hope they are good examples for each other, keep each other accountable & always have each others back. I hope they continue to be each other's best friends.

(Presley girl slept through all the diaper pile raids & commotion! & shes still sweetly dreaming away...maybe of a new pair of mary janes or hugs from her daddy.)

{Jealousy}

------------------------

Every now & again I convince Rod to send a picture from his phone of his adventures.
I have to admit...Im jealous!

I am jealous of all the places he is seeing,
food he is eating (glorious food!)
but, especially of the people he meets!
He always meets the nicest people!
Like this past month he met Matt & his family, the Tureks
(you have to see their pictures of sweet baby joshua
& a piece of this genermous pizza! click here! )
& years ago while away for officer training he met Ethan, & Ill tell you,
I love that family & we have never even met.
Kim & Ethan are just as sweet as can be,
& their kidd-os are dolls...click here for proof!

It is such a comfort to know there are fantastic people out there
to keep my husband company while he has to be away from us!

{Rod came home. Britt lost teeth.}

It was a pretty exciting weekend. & Rod was around for it all! He flew in Thursday night. The boys & baby & I drove to the city & met him there with welcome signs. My heart always skips a beat or two when I see him walking our way from the terminals. Our boys are so proud of their dad! He has been in Texas completing 4th year medical rotations with the airforce. I can hardley believe he will be done with med school in May. We were thrilled to have him home...& sad to see him go again.
The boys have been asking for him all of today.

Friday we thought about going to the Zoo...but decided to stay local to get the most of the day... we went to our neighbors to play instead...yeah thats right...the bowling ally is litteraly a tree line away from us. on occasion the boys will insist they hear thunder in the distance...but no...its just the balls hitting the pins next door. We invited our friends to join. Suede was a great bowler & has decided she & T will be married in the temple. I have no objections! Although Britt might...he loves that curly haired cutie!

Its what happened after bowling that really put a wild spin on the weekend.
We had friends over for dinner. all the kids were playing in the boy's room when we heard a thump & screams. I saw sweet Britt & blood was pouring from his face. He looked white & scared to death. Tre also was screaming because he is a sensitive kid who HATES when his brothers get hurt. I (being the first to Britt) started to yell for Rod & God at the same time. I was worried sick. Rod & Taralyn(my fabulous friend & a student doctor) grabbed Britt & checked him out...the boy had 2 teeth ripped out through the front of his gums after falling from the top bunk. It was scary. He was in a tremendous amount of pain. After a lot of blood, my freakout session & tears...we all settled down enough to call our dentist & ask what to do. so...now Britt at 3 years old has 2 teeth missing & has already had a visit from the tooth fairy. we are deciding wether to pursue implants for the next few years. I am so grateful that Britt did not recieve worse injuries! It could have been an eye or head trauma. I did move furniture today to avoid a rerun of friday's accident.

Saturday T had soccer. Rod was home for a game (yay!)...T was very happy to have dad there cheering him on from the side lines! He is such a cutie on the field! This season he is #21 with the Screaming Eagles!

(heres some post trauma pictures of britt---swollen & a bit tired. I am excluding the pictures that show how mangeled his mouth is--i try to keep this blog PG. haha.) Sunday night we let the kids stay up a bit later to spend a few more hours with Rod
before his 6am flight back to Texas. It nearly broke Rod's heart to say goodnight to them & kiss the children goodbye! He is such a great dad!

My Maddox, in all honesty you are my very own test of endurance.
how long can I endure the screaming? How long can I endure the crying? the hitting, the destruction? the madness?
I love you to bits. I think you looks so much like my grandfather & you have the cheesiest smile around!
Now & again you give me the oppurtunity to see whats behind all the tears & fits.
A very tender boy who just needs lots of extra love.
Im not at all sure why you need me more then your brothers or even Presley. but you do. I hope to one day figure you out, be able to help you be a happy boy. I worry Im failing you.(I hear most moms feel that at some point.) you cry more then you laugh & I hate that. Not because I cant stand the sound, but because I want you to have fun & feel joy. You are my baby boy & no amount of screaming fits will change the way I love you! When you feel like you can...could you please start talking & tell me how I can help you smile more?
you have my heart forever you crazy boy!
love, your mommy
