Friends in these parts are so darn clever!

Amber threw a really fun potluck tonight.
A rainbow themed gathering!

She picked up some paint sample strips at good ol' walmart & then pasted party instructions on the back of each strip. The invite informed each family that they needed to bring food of a specific color.

We were assigned purple. So we brought cupcakes with purple frosting. (blue) purple corn chips & spinach dip & peanutbutter & grape jelly rounds.
The spread was coloful & too fun.

Sometimes I think about what it will be like to no longer be a student family.
I ownder if we will ever again have such a great & big group of friends who are all in the same boat. The support & love in this group is truly amazing.

Rod, We missed you tonight stud.

What's your plan for the air force? How long is Rod planning on staying in it/how much longer does he have left? One of the things I look forward to most with Brad & the Navy are the friendships I hope I make among the other Navy wives.

And with how tight knit your church is, I don't think you'll ever have a problem with your friendships. :-)

What's up with all of the outdoor fun?!? It looks COLD!!! Move that party indoors! ;-)

As far as the air foce bit goes. He will do residency with them for 4-5 years depending on if he gets the specialty he wants. (fingers crossed! we find out in 4 weeks!!!) then after residency he/we will owe the airforce 4 years to pay back the med school scholarship. so we still have a while. & depending on how things pan out we will see from there. but deffinitly 8-9 more years for us.

The Air Force definitely provides a similar experience with friendships and people being in the same situation, but its still different. Just soak up all the awesome time you have living there with those awesome friends... its a non-replicable experience. As I'm sure you'll find your AF time to be as well, just different from school.
