When I was living in Logan, Utah & going to school at Utah State (why I went there & not down in Provo is a) a long story & b) something I regret.) I moved a few months before summer into another apartment. It was nice, but the carpets in my room were...dingy & in some spots just gross. Rod, who was a friend (although I was not exactly a very good friend to him. sadly.) at the time, got wind from my parents that I was less then excited about the state of my room. That Saturday Rod rented a steam cleaner & bought some carpet cleaner & drove from Provo to Logan (not a short drive) & showed up unannounced. He cleaned my carpet.
But did not stop there. He cleaned the living room carpet too.
Friends & roommates knew I was starting to feel something for Rod , who months earlier had called "us" off. He changed his mind when he found out I was seeing someone. So, for 6 months he had been pursuing me again, & working in kohouts with my Mom & Dad to make me jealous of his many dates. My girl friends each called me out on my stupidity for not giving Rod another chance after his visit to clean my carpet...& did I mention he also slipped a diamond necklace around my neck mid cleaning? The guy was very good at making me feel like I was everything to him. It wasnt too hard to see that he would do just about anything to take make me happy. Im a Lucky girl.
I think about that 1st time he cleaned my carpets whenever he cleans the carpets in our house. This weekend he cleaned them for me again. Not every man's favorite way to spend a saturday, but He did it. I love him for everything he does for me & our babes. Even the mundane task of steam cleaning the bedroom floors.
I especially love the guy for giving me such pretty faces to look at every day...

oh my gosh jenni. what a cute story about your carpet cleaning man:) what a cute hubby. i love how he cleans the carpets--dan does too--it's so nice huh! i especially love when he cleans the couches or chairs too. smells so nice.
what? you're an aggie? i had no idea! me too. i loved Logan though. I'm such a USU fan... some of the best times of my life. I'd rather go there than BYU anyday. ha ha.

That's the best story I've ever heard about cleaning carpets! How romantic! Ken and I cleaned our carpets last month too. I just LOVE freshly cleaned carpets! I always beg Ken to let me do the machine, and he's in charge of the solution, because I think it's so much fun. Lol. But it's never been even remotely romantic. :)
