{Gettin' heavy at Heavy's}

I always say...
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
Rural, hill living really is unique.
The things we are experiencing here will probably never cross our paths again.
& So I am soaking in every minuet of it.
The culture is unlike anything I have seen before.
We are really enjoying it.

There is a restaurant on the river.
well, if you can call it a restaurant.
its actually a shack with open walls & squeaky screen doors,
with dollar bills stapled to the wall with names of people & where they are visiting from.
(We made sure to post a dollar last year. )

To get to Heavy's you have to drive about 5 miles into the hills,
the street is narrow & tree lined,
the curves of the road follow the river.
Tobacco crops are starting to pop up through the woods.
Its beautiful.
Today it was rainy, but still pretty.
Its so green & organic here.
Austin Finklea's brothers were in town, Dave & Bart...
so of course Austin & Laura wanted them to experience local cuisine at its finest.
They were nice enough to invite the 5 of us & the Whitings along.
We always enjoy dinner with friends at Heavys.
