we read 6 verses from the scriptures. one for each of us.
We kneel & fold our arms & pray.
We say sweet dreams.
Presley is laid down first in her girlie bedroom.
I take Maddox side rail off & crawl into bed next to him for stories.
We watch the sun set out the window & turn on the closet light when the sun light has faded.
We find the tag on his sleepy blanket & sing "far away in a magical land"
Hugs & kisses.
& when Madds has dozed off its repeat with Britton.
Moose gets tucked in too.
Tre retires to his bed that gives a squeaky sigh when he gets on it (it was my childhood bed.)
Then its just Rod & Me.

Beautiful!!! I read to Norah before bed (when she lets me... Guess How Much I Love You has been my go to book) and I say our prayers (either aloud or in my heart), but I look forward to the day when she understands those stories and those prayers. I am, by no means, wishing these moments away, though. :)
We, only do a verse per person too. Its taking a while to get through the Book of Mormon, but we'll get there. We just finished Alma 4. We've read it once cover to cover with the kids, but they could hardly sit still, that's when we changed our plan. :) I can't believe you lay in bed with those wee ones until they drift to sleep! You are such a wonderful mom.
oh no kim i don't lay in bed with them till they fall asleep. just for stories. i want my rod time! haha.
such a wonderful mom you are! you inspire me. i gotta start reading the scriptures more with Max... right before bed seems like the perfect time!
sounds like you have your bedtime routine down to an art. sometimes it's hard for me to get 2 to bed successfully, it seems like 4 would be a lot harder, but maybe not!
