{Britt turns 12 and meets president Uchtdorf}

Friday, June 21, 2019

Britt turned 12 just after we moved into the rental house. We tried our very best to make it special & show him just how treasured he is. He brings so much sunshine and sweetness to our family.  As soon as he woke up he had a yummy breakfast, but had to eat quickly! He has such a hard time getting up in the morning, but not on June 1st! He had an extra fun start to his birthday this year! Britt & Tre were invited to help with ushering and greeting and traffic control for an address to the youth from President Uchtdorf! How neat is that?! our friend, Emilee and her oldest, Dax told us about it as we had just moved in & had no idea. Emilee is her Wards YW president so she was able to be there & snap some super cute pictures! Britton had such a great smile on his face when he came home & said it was his best birthday ever & would probably always be that way. so stinking cute!

After changing out of church clothes Britt was ready to rip into his presents. We played with our friends the Cannon Family, ordered pizza & went out for Salt & Straw ice cream by the lake.

Britt has grown so much this year. Starting middle school was a huge step. We were a little worried how he would do, but he had supportive friends and teachers and he brought home A after A after A on his report cards. He learned to be more independent & stepped outside his comfort zone in a lot of ways. He has even put on some weight & inches, which is a HUGE deal! he still ways less than his 6 year old brother, but we have plans for that this year too. He really is a champ. He is starting to take more ownership of his hearing (or lack there of.) He is aware of what he needs and when he needs it & I love that he is learning.
Britt is crazy for drawing and all things art. He loves to read still. He has read everything in our family library. He likes playing chess and Pokemon cards. He is witty and challenges us with riddles and shares facts he has learned. He passes the sacrament with such reverence and seriousness. It makes me both proud and giggly. He is loved by his brothers & sister and is more often than not everyones preferred playmate in our bunch. We just love him so much. He makes our hearts swell.

Check out sweet Britton's face of awe and admiration...
and if you look closely you can see big brother, Tre looking on with a
smile so excited for Britt & Dax.
