{Utah day #2}

Monday, July 31, 2017

It was so strange only have 4 of the kids with us. While Tre was working hard at lacrosse camp for the week, we went to a few places we had never visited in Utah before. First stop was heritage Park-This Is The Place. Anytime we travel through the country we discuss what it may have been like to be a pioneer and pull all our belongings in rain and snow and heat. The pioneers are amazing and so fun to study. One of Britt's favorite books is a compilation of stories of pioneer children. I really hoped this place would be a hit. When i was young one of my families favorite places to travel to was Williamsburg, Virginia. I loved dressing up and exploring and learning. I loved Williamsburg so much more than Disney World. The kids loved every little stop and station Heritage Park hard to offer. They made crafts and learned about mining and Indian life, school and the craziest thing of all was the Deseret Alphabet! It was super interesting.  We even danced in the streets. Coop was my partner and my heart could have burst it was so cute. He caught on quick. My mom danced with Britt and Rod danced with Presley. Maddox was a little nervous to try & learn the dance so he clapped along. It was such a great day. We spent almost 6 hours walking around, petting sheep, riding horses, making different crafts. We had fresh donuts and just really loved our time together. Poor Britt again started to feel awful (he hung in most of the day! he is a trooper!) so we headed to our home for the week to do take out instead of eating out. I really hope to go back to this neat part of Salt Lake City. We made some wonderful memories with the kids & my Mom.
