It was a pretty exciting weekend. & Rod was around for it all! He flew in Thursday night. The boys & baby & I drove to the city & met him there with welcome signs. My heart always skips a beat or two when I see him walking our way from the terminals. Our boys are so proud of their dad! He has been in Texas completing 4th year medical rotations with the airforce. I can hardley believe he will be done with med school in May. We were thrilled to have him home...& sad to see him go again.
The boys have been asking for him all of today.
Friday we thought about going to the Zoo...but decided to stay local to get the most of the day... we went to our neighbors to play instead...yeah thats right...the bowling ally is litteraly a tree line away from us. on occasion the boys will insist they hear thunder in the distance...but no...its just the balls hitting the pins next door. We invited our friends to join. Suede was a great bowler & has decided she & T will be married in the temple. I have no objections! Although Britt might...he loves that curly haired cutie!
Its what happened after bowling that really put a wild spin on the weekend.
We had friends over for dinner. all the kids were playing in the boy's room when we heard a thump & screams. I saw sweet Britt & blood was pouring from his face. He looked white & scared to death. Tre also was screaming because he is a sensitive kid who HATES when his brothers get hurt. I (being the first to Britt) started to yell for Rod & God at the same time. I was worried sick. Rod & Taralyn(my fabulous friend & a student doctor) grabbed Britt & checked him out...the boy had 2 teeth ripped out through the front of his gums after falling from the top bunk. It was scary. He was in a tremendous amount of pain. After a lot of blood, my freakout session & tears...we all settled down enough to call our dentist & ask what to do. so...now Britt at 3 years old has 2 teeth missing & has already had a visit from the tooth fairy. we are deciding wether to pursue implants for the next few years. I am so grateful that Britt did not recieve worse injuries! It could have been an eye or head trauma. I did move furniture today to avoid a rerun of friday's accident.

What can I say?? I will start with you Jenni. You are an amazing Woman, Mother, Friend, Wife and Daughter. Your family is so blessed to have you for all their needs. Your Father and I are so PROUD of you that it brings tears to our eyes when we speak of your strength. We LOVE you so much..
The boys look wonderful and Tre playing Soccer must have him feeling so great. He does love the team sports. Britt looks very cute without his teeth even though it was a horrific accident. We cried and prayed for his recovery and no pain. Maddox is so cute that all we want to do is hug him and kiss him. We love the boys to the Moon and Back.
Presley, well she is beautiful like her Mom. She looks more and more like Britton. We can't wait to hold her and whisper in her ear that we love her.
Rod looks so handsome in his uniform and happy when he is home playing with the kids. I'm sure all is missing him now.
Soon, you all will be together again.
We love you all so much.
Mom and Dad xxxxxxoooooo
Okay, now I am probably being a blog stalker since I've posted twice on your blog....but I knew there would be a post about Rod's return for the weekend. I was so happy for you guys when I found out he would be making the trip. As much as he held and made my son laugh at our restaurant trips I could tell he was a great dad. I know you must miss him terribly. I'm glad you all had a good weekend minus the tooth trauma. You have a beautiful family.
Oh Jenni,
You are such an amazing person. You seriously astound me with your strength and patience. I am so happy you were able to have Rod home for the weekend. Nothing makes things better than being together as a family. I am so sorry to hear about Britt. Poor little guy. Brody threw a chair at Brooklyn one night and chipped her front tooth. I am so sorry. Go BYU!!! Dont you sometimes miss Utah? I know I do. If you ever need to talk over the next four weeks while Rod is gone, give me a call. Lots of love,
My favorite quote from the "incident" "Taralyn, I don't care what you say, missing teeth are NOT cute!" I love you Jenn. You are awesome. But...sure enough, I was right. He is super cute. Glad the pain is getting better. :(
Jenni,
This post has me crying!! It's so touching. I love to see my sons with their dad, playing and being boys. It's so wonderful that your boys got some of that time with their daddy! Your pictures capture the moments so wonderfully. I swear your photography skills are getting better by the minute!!! And little Presley is getting cuter by the minute!
Thank you for letting others peer into your life. I'm starting to cry again...
You are undoubtedly one seriously strong woman! I don't know how you do it all and keep a smile on your face... you're amazing!
Poor Britton! He does look cute, though. I know what its like to have a hubby stay calm in the midst of trauma, I don't know how they manage it... Hope Britt's mouth feels better soon!
