{Christmas Eve}

Thursday, January 11, 2018

Christmas Eve my parents came & my mom brought some of her German childhood traditions with her. We watched Christmas movies and snacked on all kinds of goodies. We celebrated Rod's birthday with my homemade warm sheet cake and Tacos. Santa swung by and dropped off new PJs for the special night before his big deliveries. We read the nativity story & had our family Christmas pageant. Each year the little production we put on gets better and better as the children better understand the significance of the story. The children set up shop in Presley's room. They had Santa tracker going on one device, a Christmas movie on another, cookies, popcorn and a pile of plans on how to catch Santa. They wrote Santa notes and I could feel the magic thick in the air. Tre even got into the spirit of things like eta belittles. I love that he still can let there be magic even if he knows the truth. he is such a great big brother! The kids finally crashed at 11:45 and since the wrapping had been done in advance (that has NEVER happened before!) we were able to just really relax and enjoy the night. We went to bed in new PJs Santa left and I fell asleep imagining the children's faces when the sun would rise.
