when there is scouts, or church responsibilities or sports..then things get jostled about a bit until it fits for the day.
but on any normal afternoon the boys have a schedule.
2:45 Snack
3:00 Jobs
3:30 reading time/story time
3:45 homework
4:15 free time
5:00 bath time/shower time
5:30 supper time
6:00 song/scripture & family prayer
6:30 bedtime for Presley, Maddox, Britton
7:30 Tre to bed
of all these, reading time is my favorite!
the house gets still
Tre picks a book, Britton picks a few reader books, & Maddox reads along with starfall's reading app on the iPad or joins me as i read out loud to Presley.
for 15 minutes I will hear little chuckles or see silent smiles as they read or listen quietly. Its the calm before the storm.
Such smarties.
ReplyDelete6:30 bedtimes?! What time do they wake up in the morning?? Norah goes down at 8 and typically is up around 7. Phew... we'd have some early mornings if I put her down at 6:30! I can't even wrap my head around it!! haha.
ReplyDeletei am glad i'm not the only one who puts their kids to bed early! mine usually don't ever go down at 6:30... well, sometimes. But they do go down at 7ish. Max usually falls asleep the second his head hits the pillow and Ruby takes a bit longer...
ReplyDeleteI should totally implement an after school schedule! That's awesome and would probably give the day more structure and less chaos!
Oh how I wish dinner time only took 30 minutes at our house. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love your after school schedule. We tentatively have home, dinner, bed time and lots of chaos inbetween. I might just have to try yours out. I Love schedules it makes things so calm and then when Saturday comes it's so much more fun when their is less of one or none at all! You are a neat Mom and encourage me to have more energy in my mommy hood. Thank you for letting us peak into your life. :)
